Please share!! These Gaffney and Blacksburg High school students make my job easy. I don't think they understand how important they are. Peer influence is such a big deal to today's teenagers. These pictures are from the RADA roundtables we participate in every year at local middle schools. These high school students are rockstars to middle school students and their voices need to be heard. I wish we had an army of high school students who RADA. Shout out and a huge thank you to my buddy David Toney for creating this group in 2016, we're still going strong making legends! All of the RADA members are not in these photos due to class schedules and other events. I thank them all for being a part of RADA, it's truly a lifestyle! Gaffney High School Blacksburg High School

Cherokee County School District School Choice Information The Cherokee County School District Board of Trustees (Policy JFB), and Cherokee County School District will offer limited school choice for the 2022-2023 academic year based on availability of space within specific grade levels at each school in our district. You may request that your child attend a school other than his/her zoned school by completing the online application no later than April 1, 2022. All parents will be notified of the status of their request no later than June 1, 2022. All applications will be considered in the order in which they are received beginning at 9 a.m. on March 1, 2022. The application can be found on the Cherokee County School District website (under Quick Links & School Choice Form). Students who have already been approved for school choice do not have to reapply for the 2022-2023 school year, unless the student is advancing from 4K to 5K Kindergarten, elementary school to middle school, or middle school to high school and the school of choice is not in the assigned attendance zone. If your choice is granted, your student must remain at the chosen school for the entire school year. Please note that it is the responsibility of the family to provide transportation to and from the requested school outside of your student’s attendance zone. You must have your student at school on time and picked up on time. Students must not have excessive tardiness in order for the transfer to remain in effect. Also, students are expected to maintain an acceptable academic, discipline, and attendance record. A principal may choose to recommend revoking school choice status should a student fail to meet those expectations. It is also the responsibility of the parent/guardian to establish eligibility of student participation in activities sponsored by the S.C. High School League. In order to participate in such activities, a student must meet all SCHSL eligibility requirements. For any questions about eligibility, please contact the district’s Athletic Director, Coach Scriven, at 206-2201. If you agree with all of the above and wish to make an official request that your student attend a school other than his/her zoned school, please complete the online application found on the district’s website, between March 1 and April 1. Sincerely, Mr. Isaac Wallace Coordinator for Attendance, Truancy, & Discipline Cherokee County School District.
