BHS Homecoming Spirit Week 2022. Monday: "Anything but a bookbag" Day. Bring your books and school supplies in anything other than a bookbag. Tuesday: Character Day: dress like a character from a movie, book, or television show. Wednesday: Decades Day: dress in the style of any decade. Thursday: Senior Citizen Day: time travel and dress as if you are already a senior citizen. Friday: Black and Gold Day: wear school colors to support our wildcats! All dress code rules in the handbook apply.

Christmas tree paint it up! Come celebrate Christmas in the art room November 5th from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Choose from two sizes of trees. Money must be paid up front to secure a seat for the party. The money pays for the tree and supplies needed to paint and seal it. Please send money to Christina Thompson by September 30, 2022. $40 for 11 inch by 5.25 inch tree with light kit. Due to impending weather on Friday, the Varsity football game at Ninety Six-High School has been moved from Friday to Thursday, 7 pm kickoff. Tickets for our varsity game at Ninety Six will be through GoFan, and will be posted as soon as we receive the link. This changed our home JV football game from Thursday to Wednesday at 7 pm. Middle School Football will also play at Landrum on Wednesday instead of Thursday at 5:30 pm.

The BHS Choir is sponsoring a Blacksburg High School Talent Night on November 3rd. We will have auditions next Wednesday, September 28th after school. Attendance Make-Up Days. Tuesday October 4th / Thursday October 6th, Tuesday October 11th / Thursday October 13th. 3:35 pm until 4:35 pm in the auditorium. Students must bring assignments to work on. Students cannot make-up seat time during athletic practice times.  Students must sign in and be present in the auditorium to receive make-up seat time.

College Board's National Rural and Small Town Awards. Congratulations, Zack and Jake! Zack Burgs and Jake Coughlin were awarded College Board's National Rural and Small Town Award for academic achievement. The award is based on performance on either the AP exam or the PSAT. Students who achieve distinction status on two AP exams or who score in the top 10% in the state on the PSAT are eligible for this award.

Cherokee County School District Immunizations.  MUSC Hollings Cancer Center's Community Health Van will provide HPV, Tdap and Meningitis immunizations to Cherokee County School District middle and high school students on September 7-9 (with parental consent). Walk-ins are also allowed with parental consent. HPV 2nd dose is available for those who received the 1st dose in March 2022. Blacksburg High School (9th grade only ) 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Beat Cancer What parents need to know about HPV. The HPV vaccine is FDA approved and extremely safe and effective. The HPV vaccine is for both boys and girls.  The optimal age  for the first dose is 11-12, but it can be given as early as 9. Your child only needs 2 doses if vaccination is initiated before age 15.
