Any student/athlete who plans to participate in summer workouts or 7 on 7s will need to have a physical on file before they can participate.
There will be $10 physicals in the BHS gym Monday at 10am.

Any seniors who have not turned in their devices and/or chargers need to do so by Monday to avoid any fees before graduation.

Any student interested in trying out for Varsity Cheerleading will need at attend the mandatory parent meeting on May 22 @ 5:30 in the BHS gymnasium.

Senior Decision Day showcased seniors who opted to share their plans after high school. Congratulations!

The 2023 spring football game for the Blacksburg High School Football program is set for Friday May 19th at 6pm at T.A. Campbell stadium. There will be a parent meeting in the stadium following the game. There is no charge for admission. Come out and get an early look at the 2023 team.

Dear Senior Parents or Guardians:
The faculty and staff of Blacksburg High School and Cherokee County School District thank you for supporting your son or daughter in his/her educational efforts throughout this academic journey. All of this hard work will culminate at our commencement ceremony on May 25, 2023, at 6pm. Participation in the ceremony is voluntary. Those who do not wish to participate or who do not meet the requirements may pick up diplomas in the main office the day after the ceremony. Mandatory graduation practice is at 10am on May 24, 2023, at Blacksburg High School. Students
who do not come to practice may not participate in the ceremony. Seniors should report directly to the auditorium by 10 AM on May 24th for practice. Graduates do not have to wear a cap/gown to practice.
Rain dates for this year’s ceremony are
1st Rain Date: Friday, May 26, 2023, at 10:00am;
2nd Rain Date: Friday, May 26, 2023, at 6:00pm;
PLEASE NOTE: Depending on the weather forecast for the week of graduation, it may be necessary to move the graduation ceremony to Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 6:00pm. We will set a new graduation practice time if this happens. This will be announced as soon as a decision is made. Please know that we intend to keep the original date of May 25, 2023, at 6:00pm, but the weather is beyond our control.
In order to participate in the ceremony, candidates must adhere to the following:
All graduates must wear the official BHS graduation regalia. No ribbons, signs, jewelry, objects, monograms, etc. may be attached to the graduation regalia. The graduation cap must sit flat on your head. No sunglasses or other headgear is allowed. All males must wear a white collared dress shirt and tie. No tee shirts, golf shirts, or other casual shirts are allowed. All males must wear black trousers and black dress shoes. No tennis shoes, other athletic shoes, flip-flops, sandals, jeans, denim, shorts, or other casual attire/shoes will be allowed. All females must wear the white collar provided with the robe. All females must wear a black, dressy pantsuit, skirt and blouse, or dress and dress shoes. Any part of the clothing that shows outside of the gown must be black. No tennis shoes, other athletic shoes, flip-flops, sandals, jeans, denim, shorts, leggings, jeggings, rompers, or other casual attire/shoes will be allowed. The only chords and stoles allowed to be worn during the ceremony are those issued by BHS, The Institute of Innovation, or The Scholars Academy. Cell phones must be turned off. (Texting will not be tolerated.)
I want to assure you that the entire staff of Blacksburg High School does everything possible to provide a dignified, respectful ceremony to honor our graduates. We feel that our ceremony showcases our pride in being the best high school in the state. All decisions are made in the best interests of our students and their safety.
