BHS will be hosting an informational meeting next Wednesday, January 14 as we introduce an exciting new sport — Competition Cheer! This meeting is open to all rising 7-12th graders.
During this meeting, we’ll cover important details including tryout expectations, tryout dates, and everything athletes need to know to decide if competition cheer is right for them. Even if you’re unsure about trying out, we strongly encourage you to attend and get the information!

The Blacksburg High School Choir will perform at the upcoming Community Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. CCSD is grateful for these students' willingness to share their talents and bring joy to others during this season of thanks!
Thank you, American Military Veterans, for your devotion and dedication to our country! We were honored to have BHS alumni, Clay Keller, speak to our student body, his fellow veterans, and family members this morning. BHS history teacher, Mr. Danny Scruggs, is a proud veteran, and BHS is proud of him!
The BHS Choir under the direction of Mrs. Monica Martin performed "The National Anthem" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" with the able assistance of our own "Bugle Boy," band director Dr. Spencer Nance. The Wildcat Band performed patriotic songs and played the anthem for each of the military branches.
Students explained the significance of Veterans Day, its history and traditions, and read a poem about the American flag. Mrs. Kristi Crater does a fabulous job each year coordinating this event.

Blacksburg High and Blacksburg Middle Schools’ Choruses both had students selected for South Carolina ACDA Honor Choir! BHS’s Jayven Dasher, Isaac Martin, Dasia Smith, and BMS’s Maggie Martin auditioned with more than 1200 students from around the state and were among a select group of performers chosen for this honor! Congratulations to each of these talented singers!
Our Wildcat Band finished state competition in 7th place. They had an outstanding final performance and made us proud all season long. With pride!
